Description

The 40SH35H is a single-strand, Type B Quick Detachable (QD) roller chain sprocket engineered for standard #40 roller chain (1/2" pitch). It features 35 teeth paired with a high-durability induction-hardened rim ("H"), requiring an SH-series tapered QD bushing to clamp securely onto a drive shaft.
Product Specifications
  • Industry Designation: 40SH35H
  • Compatible Chain Size: #40 ANSI Standard Roller Chain (1/2" Pitch)
  • Tooth Count: 35 Teeth
  • Hardened Teeth: Yes (Induction-hardened tooth profiles)
  • Required Bushing Type: SH Quick Detachable Bushing (sold separately)
  • Bushing Bore Capacity: Accommodates finished shaft diameters from 1/2" up to 1-5/8" maximum bore
  • Pitch Diameter: 5.579 inches (141.71 mm)
  • Outside Diameter: 5.850 inches (148.59 mm)
  • Hub Diameter: 2-11/16 inches (68.26 mm)
  • Sprocket Weight: ~1.95 lbs (rim only)
Key Features
  • Induction-Hardened Teeth ("H"): The tooth profiles undergo localized heat treatment to resist aggressive abrasive wear. This makes it ideal for heavy-duty setups, high-torque startups, or gritty environments exposed to dirt and farm debris.
  • Split-Taper QD Compression: Pairs with an interchangeable SH bushing. When drawn tight with standard pull-up bolts, the bushing compresses uniformly across the shaft to create a true mechanical press-fit, preventing keyway wallow and shaft slippage under sudden heavy loads.
  • Concentric Tooth Machining: Precision-machined with a bore structure perfectly concentric to the outer pitch line. This tight structural tolerance minimizes run-out, limits chain vibration, and noticeably extends the service life of both your chain and sprocket.
  • Universal Interchangeability: Fully conforms to strict ANSI benchmarks, allowing the rim layout to cross-interchange completely with major component brands like Martin Sprocket & Gear, U.S. Tsubaki, and Tritan.
Common Industry Applications
This speed reduction sprocket is widely utilized for driving loops in agricultural machinery (such as grain handling or feed systems), automated sorting conveyor lines, packaging machinery, and commercial power drive configurations.
