Description

The 50SDS23H is a single-strand, Type B Quick Detachable (QD) roller chain sprocket precision-engineered for standard #50 roller chain (5/8" pitch). It features 23 teeth combined with a high-durability induction-hardened rim ("H"), and it requires an SDS-series tapered QD bushing to mount securely onto a drive shaft.
Product Specifications
  • Industry Designation: 50SDS23H
  • Compatible Chain Size: #50 ANSI Standard Roller Chain (5/8" Pitch)
  • Tooth Count: 23 Teeth
  • Hardened Teeth: Yes (Induction-hardened tooth profiles)
  • Required Bushing Type: SDS Quick Detachable Bushing (sold separately)
  • Bushing Bore Capacity: Accommodates finished shaft diameters from 1/2" up to 2" maximum bore
  • Pitch Diameter: 4.590 inches (116.59 mm)
  • Outside Diameter: 4.920 inches (124.97 mm)
  • Length Through Bore (LTB): 0.750 inches (3/4")
  • Hub Diameter: 3-3/16 inches (3.188")
  • Sprocket Weight: ~1.58 lbs (rim only)
Key Features
  • Induction-Hardened Teeth ("H"): The tooth profiles undergo specialized heat treatment to resist aggressive abrasive wear. This design is highly recommended for small drive sprockets in setups with a 4:1 ratio or greater to prolong system runtime.
  • Split-Taper QD Compression: Designed to pair with an interchangeable SDS bushing. When drawn tight with standard pull-up bolts, the bushing compresses uniformly across the shaft to create a true mechanical press-fit, preventing keyway wallow and shaft slippage under sudden high-torque loads.
  • Concentric Tooth Machining: Precision-machined from high-carbon steel with a bore structure perfectly concentric to the outer pitch line. This tight structural tolerance minimizes run-out, limits chain vibration, and noticeably extends the service life of both your chain and sprocket.
  • Universal Interchangeability: Fully conforms to strict ANSI benchmarks, ensuring the rim layout can cross-interchange completely with major component brands like Martin Sprocket & Gear, U.S. Tsubaki, Linn Gear, and Tritan.
Common Industry Applications
This driver sprocket is heavily utilized for compact, high-torque reduction loops in agricultural machinery (such as feeding machinery, conveyors, or spreaders), automated warehouse sorting loops, commercial packaging machinery lines, and industrial power drive configurations.
