Description
The 40SDS54 (also referred to as 40CH54TH SDS) is a single-strand, Type B Quick Detachable (QD) roller chain sprocket engineered to work with standard #40 roller chain (1/2" pitch). It features 54 teeth and requires an SDS-series tapered QD bushing to secure it tightly onto a drive shaft.

Key Features
- Split-Taper QD Grip: Interlocks seamlessly with a split SDS bushing. Utilizing standard pull-up bolts, the bushing compresses uniformly around the drive shaft to establish a true press-fit, preventing keyway wallow and reducing shaft slippage under sudden loads. [
- Concentric Machining: Fabricated with precision-machined bores concentric to the pitch line. This design ensures parallel chain paths, minimizes run-out, and limits operational vibration to drastically increase the lifespan of both the sprocket and the chain.
- High-Carbon Steel Build: Constructed from rugged carbon steel to maintain tooth integrity and structural alignment over prolonged industrial and commercial operating cycles.
- Interchangeable Design: Fully compatible and cross-interchangeable across all major power transmission brands, including Martin Sprocket & Gear, U.S. Tsubaki, and Tritan.
Common Industry Applications
This mid-to-large diameter reduction sprocket is frequently utilized in commercial automated conveyor setups, material handling sorting drives, industrial processing assembly lines, and heavy-duty agricultural equipment machinery.
