Description

The 40SDS36H is a single-strand, Type B Quick Detachable (QD) roller chain sprocket engineered for standard #40 roller chain (1/2" pitch). It features 36 teeth with a high-durability induction-hardened rim ("H"), and it requires an SDS-series tapered QD bushing to mount onto a drive shaft.
Product Specifications
  • Industry Designation: 40SDS36H
  • Compatible Chain Size: #40 ANSI Standard Roller Chain (1/2" Pitch)
  • Tooth Count: 36 Teeth
  • Hardened Teeth: Yes (Induction-hardened tooth profiles)
  • Required Bushing Type: SDS Quick Detachable Bushing (sold separately)
  • Bushing Bore Capacity: Accommodates finished shaft diameters from 1/2" up to 2" maximum bore
  • Pitch Diameter: 5.737 inches (145.72 mm)
  • Outside Diameter: 6.010 inches (152.65 mm)
  • Nominal Tooth Width: 0.284 inches (7.21 mm)
  • Hub Diameter: 3-3/16 inches (81.0 mm)
  • Sprocket Weight: ~2.10 lbs (rim only)
Key Features
  • Induction-Hardened Teeth ("H"): The teeth undergo localized heat-treating to resist aggressive abrasive wear, making this model ideal for heavy-duty setups, high-torque startups, or environments with dirt and debris.
  • Split-Taper QD Compression: Pairs with an interchangeable SDS bushing. When tightened via standard pull-up bolts, the bushing compresses uniformly across the shaft to provide a solid press-fit, preventing keyway wallow and shaft slippage under sudden high-torque loads.
  • Concentric Tooth Machining: Precision-machined with a bore structure perfectly concentric to the outer pitch line, which dramatically minimizes run-out, limits chain vibration, and increases the service life of your entire drive assembly.
  • Universal Interchangeability: Fully conforms to strict ANSI benchmarks, allowing the rim layout to cross-interchange completely with major component brands like Martin Sprocket & Gear, U.S. Tsubaki, and Tritan.
Common Industry Applications
This speed reduction sprocket is ideally used for high-wear driving loops in automated warehouse conveyor configurations, sorting mechanisms, industrial mixer assemblies, and heavy-duty agricultural machinery drives.
